Baby Lips

Check out these handsome men! We blessed Westin this past Sunday.
We're so excited to have him!!! He is such a sweet baby! Unlike Aaron, he actually lets me get some sleep! He is WAY different than Aaron. I knew they'd be different, but I didn't know HOW different they'd be. First off, they look very different. Aaron has JT's head, and my nose and eyes. He's not tall at all (like JT was as a kid). And he's a total tow head. Wes on the other hand has my head and JT's nose and eyes. And his hair is light brown. For now. Who knows what color it will be. Wes is incredibly tall. His blessing outfit barely snapped at the crotch! He's been wearing 3-6 month clothes just for the length. (Aaron could fit in newborn until he was 3 months old!) Aaron is an absolute spaz; he keeps us laughing... and busy. Wes is just the sweetest, quietest kid on Earth!

Anyways, I was having fun with Wes, a white towel, and my camera. I zoomed in on his fat little baby lips and right after I took the first one he busted out a big ol' grin. I'm so glad I got it on camera!

Apple-scented Shampoo

Alfalfa. Leather. Grass. Dirt. Horse sweat. Water from a hose. Poop on my boots. Smelly, grimy goodness. Oh... it's good to be back!!!

Now that the weather is cooling off, Aaron can hang on, and Wes is mellow enough to sleep in the shade and let me ride, I can't get enough! (Don't worry, there's always someone with him.)

On Friday, Hayley Larsen and I went to just go touch the horses. She rode Hadem in a halter while Aaron played in the rocks and I fed Wes under a tree. I didn't ride, but it was so good to just be out of the house! JT watched the boys so I could go riding on Saturday morning. Kathy, Hayley and Tyler came too. Then JT brought Aaron so he could go for a little bit while we were cooling off.

Then today (Veteran's Day) we took the Gray girls riding. That was so fun! I haven't seen Jenny in a long time. We practically swapped kids. Kathy and I took the kids riding and Jenny got her baby fix. Aaron was jealous he didn't get to ride the whole time but it was about naptime anyways. We got a trampoline from my in-laws that came in handy. We didn't have room in our backyard, so we set it up in the field so those that didn't ride, jumped. Plus it'll come in handy for me to get my fat butt on my tall horse. But I guess I need to spend more time on a trampoline so my fat butt can get on without one, huh?

Anyways, I'm so stoked to ride again. And our rag-tag group of horses sure is awesome. It's easy to forget how good they are when you don't spend much time with them. I miss it, I miss it, I miss it!!!

Okay so this pic is really funny... I had to post it. Joslyn is impersonating a "3-toed sloth" and Shevy came up to nuzzle her... but it doesn't look like that.

Why you should never use Apple-scented Shampoo...

Quasimodo

We have come to the conclusion that we are either bad parents, Aaron is accident prone, or just a two-year-old boy.

It all started about a couple weeks ago. He climbed on a canvas camping chair and it folded beneath him and he fell on my Grandma's concrete driveway. He cracked his head open or a pebble on the concrete made him bleed. But white hair and red blood is pretty dramatic so it looked worse than it was. Then we were at my in-laws and he was running in their kitchen, tripped and did a nose... I mean... forehead-dive into a kitchen chair. Hence the Quasimodo photo above. THEN he ran into my open dresser drawer and got a good bruise and a small cut above his ear. tHeN he was playing on Wes' swing and kissed the floor and got a bloody nose on the day I took him in for immunizations. So here I am with Aaron at the doctor and he has two scabs on different parts of his head, a goose-egg on his forehead, a bruise on his head and a bloody nose. Yeah. That looks good. I'm not abusive. (And poor Aaron had to endure a shot to boot!)

Then at a family gathering at the park my great-aunt had a quilt displayed on a banquet table leaning against a ramada pillar. Aaron wrapped up in the quilt, took a step, and got smacked to the concrete beneath the big heavy table. He got yet another good goose-egg on the back of his head and some swelling and concrete-burn on his forehead. He has got the busiest guardian angel!!!

I wanted a pic of his new ouchie so I asked him if I could take a picture of his candy necklace. He was only too happy to oblige. (Note the mark from the kitchen chair between his eyes).
But when I couldn't see the swelling in the pic I asked him if I could take a picture of his ouchie and he did the saddest/funniest face EVER!

Kid, I'm sorry, but I believe you are an accident-prone two-year-old boy!!!

Jump Start

Okay, so here's the jump start for my little blog...
Halloween was so fun. Aaron was a Pirate and Wes was Batman! They were so cute! Aaron didn't want anything to do with trick or treating though. He was too intrigued by the Spider. We couldn't get him away from it. It was a huge kick at our ward's Trunk or Treat. Aaron got the biggest sugar buzz and Wes got passed around like a bad cold. Our parents and siblings all showed up and it was so fun to see everyone. My hat looks retarded in the pic. but what's new? Hats never look good on me. I should know this by now. My head is huge. Baseball caps fit my noggin like a Jewish yamika. Hey, I just got an idea for next year's costume....

Pppffftttttffflegh

Okay, so I'm attempting to create a blog. We'll see how this goes. I'm not that handy on the computer, nor have I ever been good at keeping a journal. In fact mine is in mint condition. I bought it when I got married. I vowed I would keep track of married life. Didn't happen. Then I swore I would keep accounts of my first pregnancy, then of Aaron's life. -Ditto. Now I have two boys and an empty journal. So don't be surprised if this goes pppffftttttffflegh (for those of you who don't know, that is the sound of something being deflated). BUT... because I can add pictures like a digital scrapbook and add music and get comments and all that other crap... I might just keep it up. I don't know. We'll see.
